FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the difference between dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections?

Dermal fillers plump up the area they are injected into - be it to boost the facial profile, or to smooth out resting lines and creases. Anti-wrinkle injections are neuro-modulators which work by relaxing and reducing muscle activity in the area injected. It can be used preventively to avoid the development of wrinkles before they have formed. When used in combination, they can complement your facial features and give you a synergistic radiant look!

Are the anti-wrinkle injections and lip/dermal filler treatments safe?

Every cosmetic procedure comes with a certain amount of risk. It is important you understand this and make an informed decision about your treatment based not only on the potential benefits, but also its potential risks. We convey these to you clearly and transparently and are happy to answer any questions you may have at any stage.

How long does the anti-wrinkle injections, lip fillers and dermal fillers last?

The longevity of treatment results depends greatly on the products used, the area it is placed, and varies between individuals. Effects may last longer if treatments are continued regularly.

Dermal fillers: 12-18 months on average.

Lip fillers: 6-12 months on average.

Anti-wrinkle injections: 3-5 months on average.

Are the anti-wrinkle injections and lip/dermal filler treatments painful?

In short, they are not painful and should not be.

Anti-wrinkle injections may feel like a sting or a pinch - comparable to that of a mosquito bite.

For our lip and dermal filler treatment, topical numbing cream is applied to the injection area prior to the procedure and reduces how much you can feel. Any pain experienced after the numbing cream has worn off can generally be well-managed with over-the-counter pain relievers such as paracetamol.

Having said that, pain is subjective. Discuss your pain and discomfort concerns with us and we can address them prior to treatment.

Is there any downtime from the anti-wrinkle injections and lip/dermal filler treatments?

You can resume your usual daily routine almost immediately after treatment. Refer to the Pre & Post Care page for more information on aftercare.

Can I eat or drink after lip fillers?

Absolutely! It will feel strange due to the swelling and soreness. Refer to section 'Specific to Lip filler' on the Pre & Post Care page to learn what food/drinks should be avoided.
